PRODUCT DESIGNER
At ASD Lighting plc we are lighting the way with groundbreaking new products. Design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing everything on site at our South Yorkshire plant means we are a responsive, dynamic, progressive and intelligent company that is firmly in control of its own future. We are looking for a Product Designer with the same qualities.
Us - A company who design, develop and manufacture performance lighting products for the past 30 years. We give the lighting installer and specifier something extra - looking at how they actually work and the problems that they may encounter, however minor, allows us to design the products that make their lives easier.
You - With a minimum of 3 years experience in product design, you will have a creative flair and a good knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly. Confident enough to talk to customers face to face and flexible enough to work well within an established team you will need to be extremely enthusiastic, innovative, motivated and with a good eye for detail. An excellent communicator and well organised, you will be comfortable to run your own projects from conception through to launch. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified (Product Design, Industrial Design or relevant experience)
- Good experience of Product Design for Manufacture
- Experience of 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
- Good ideas generation and visual communication skills
- LIF (Lighting Industry Federation) certificate qualified (preferred but not essential)
- Experience of designing LED product, optical and thermal systems is essential
